    Flip down diffuser

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has had experience/success with a flip down diffuser built into one of their light designs. I have a Petzl XP2 headlamp that has a ~20mm lens with what I'd guess is a medium focus. It then has a diffuser that one can flip in front of the lens and create a very evenly diffused light. I find this feature very useful on a headlamp. When backpacking, I'll use the diffused light around camp and for reading, and the spot setting for hiking. I also use the light for bike touring in the evening for reading road signs as a head mounted lamp in addition to my bar light, and was wondering if any of you guys found it useful to have an optional diffuser built in, or easily attachable to your lights (either bar or helmet mounted). If you've already built something I'd love to see photos!

I took an old red taillight diffuser and dremel'd it to fit over my Magicshine light...now I have the brightest red blinky in town. I even use it in daylight on busy roads.
