Crude L33 Micro...for the weight weenies

With finals completed, I now had some time to work on the projects that were piling up in the house. Of course, my priority was to finish my handlebar light using the L33 and only the supplies I had on hand and with only the limited tools available.

Final weight: 33 grams, with plenty of room to improve.

    Materials used:
    1" Aluminum 6061 round bar
    RC car heat sink
    Thermal epoxy
    Magicshine connectors and battery

the round stock was cut with a 1 1/4" hole saw to allow it to seat up next to the handlebar radius for heat dissipation. Enjoy!

Hi BK. That is brilliantly simple and incredibly light. Congratulations, I really like that.

I see you are using Troutie's approach of using the bars as a heatsink. Not sure it would have enough surface area to work with carbon bars or as a helmet light (the L33 needs to dissipate some 10w of heat which means 20-odd sq in of surface) but for the way you have used it it's fantastic.
