    Cateye spacer???

I am in need of a little help here...
I have been looking for the Cateye spacer which I intend on fitting to my lights so I can use the Cateye brackets. However, they seem to be a discontinued item, certainly this side of the pond. I rang the Cateye distributer and they dont even have any on the shelves.
So... does anyone in the UK know of where to get hold of them???
Or... Does anyone in the States know where/can get hold of them? I will certainly pay you beer tokens if you are able to send some my way!!

What other clamps are nice and tidy if I camt get the Cateye stuff?

    Thanks everyone!

I just bought a couple here in the States direct from the CatEye website. But I think I've read here that they don't ship outside the US???

Tommo, I like that mount. If I have no luck with the cateye I'll most probably hget some of those.
Jim and cycleboy, those are what I need! You're right, they dont ship to outside the states.
Cycleboy, did you get them from cateye direct or from a bikeshop?

The Catey small parts web store is only open for US customers so they just asked me to give them a call and they and they shipped a pile of parts to me in Canada for about $5 in freight.

"The small parts page at www.cateye.com only ships within the US, but you can get small parts with shipping to Canada through our Boulder, CO USA service center at 1-800-5-CATEYE (M-F, 8-6 MT). Additionally, your local bike shop has access to order all Cat Eye small parts, if they do not already stock them.
For Cat Eye product availability, service, warranty or small parts inquiries in your region, please contact the CatEye dealer nearest you: http://www.cateye.com/en/dealers/68"

Dkvick, thianks for that idea. May have to bite the bullet and ring the American dealer. The UK importer reckons they are a discontinued item.
    How many have you got?????!

I bought 4-5 spacers, 3 helmet mounts and 4 handlebar mounts. I sort of like the helmet mount but find that it does not have enough "notches" to adjust the angle. I have to fiddle around to get right angle. Also, don't buy the handlebar mount with universal fit clamp (25.4-31.8) as it does not clamp down hard enough on the bar. I think the cam version would work better. It might work better with tape on the bar but does not hold the light very tight with the standard setup.

It took me a while until I found the source for these parts so I will hang on to them for now for future builds otherwise I could have sent you a couple.

    Cheers, David

There's still hope! I asked Cateye small parts store Customer Support when the spacers are going to be available and got a reply today: probably mid-July.

Mid-July?! Man, between that delay and Chain Reaction's push-back of the Electron mount restock, a few DIY projects will be hurting. I'm waiting on the CatEye spacers myself..

I know what you mean, I have 3 lights with no mountings.

I will email cateye and see if they will post to me in the UK, I know their website says they dont but it is worth a try! Otherwise I may have to ask a kind person to send me some too!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that the spacer is back in stock.

I also ordered an extension spacer just to see what that is.

Brackets H31 and H32 and spacers found here:
    http://www.cateye.com/store/parts.php?cid=2_25

    Extension spacer here:

    Helmet mount:

Not sure if all these are compatible with each other - will see when they arrive!

I have jst tried to place an order but they wont deliver to the UK. I have emailed them asking if they can make an exception.

If it is no, will anyone be willing to get me some and send them. I will paypal first, to cover the cost of the spacers and delivery and some beer tokens too! I'm looking to get about 20 so I can then pass then on back in the UK.

    Thanks
    Andrew

Does anyone know the thread size of the spacer's provided machine screw? I'd like to know what size tap to look for.

It gets rather expensive shipping them over here! But then we could sell them on....!

Interesting.....looks like it provides some lift between the mount and the light. Or, if you run everything upside down, lowers it further below the bar. Might be helpful getting the light clear of the cables under the bar.

Let us know about it once you've had a chance to check it out.

I have just emailed Zyro, who is the UK Cateye dealer, to see if they can stock the spacers.

I'm not paying the huge prices getting them over from Germany unless there are other guys who will want some too??

I've emailed Cateye USA and not heard anything back in over a month.

It is a M4, but they also ship with a non-machine screw as well. As long as it fits the hole, the thread type deoes not matter.
