    6x XP-E Carclo 10mm optic advice

I'm attempting to build a 6x XP-E light (3s2p 500mA/led) and would like some input from those who have experience with the Carclo 10mm optics about what would be the best combination for a handlebar light and for a helmet light.

The Carlco specs on Cutter (http://www.cutter.com.au/proddetail.php?prod=cut837) seems to show that there isn’t much difference between the optics, and there isn’t a detailed Spec sheet that I can see.

I’m currently running a 2x XR-E Achesalot style with Ledil CRS optics and find a combination with 1x CRS-D and 1x CRS-M to be ideal for me.

From my building experiences I can recomend for a bar light

    2 x 10417
    2 x 10415
    2 x 10413
this gives a real sweet beam with a nice spread

    and for the helmet
all 6 the 10417 my preference

    or 2 x 10515
    and 4 x 10417

though if it was for bar or helmet then the top option is the best all rounder (imho)

Thanks znomit, that link is exactly what I was looking for but couldnít find for the life of me! Seems to me that the Cutter specs are a little out.

troutie youíre a demigod around these parts so your input will carry considerable weight. I hadnít considered the elliptical, but I might just throw some into my order now and see how they go. Iíll be running two lights, one on bars and one on helmet.

Iíll try to post details of the build when Iím done. Donít hold your breath though, Iíve only a hacksaw, a file, a soldering iron and limited spare time to get the build done.

looking at the link from Znomit it appears Carclo have updated their info from when I got my optics for the builds I did last winter .
I am going to give the 10412 a try as it looks quite interesting .the shape of the die times a few might mean a nice letterbox shaped beam
and the propagander says it is more effecient too
