    Swapping Discs

I'm riding a 05 Kona stinky, and I was wondering if I can swop the 8" rear rotor for a 6" one (warping issues). If it's possible, what are some of the things to take note? Any warranty issues?

    thanks

You'll likely need a new adapter for the caliper to fit an 8" rotor.

My suggestion is to take your front 6" rotor and move it to the back. Then get the proper adapter for the FORK and put the 8" up front.

the front is an 8incher... hmm, that means I need to get an adapter for the new 6" rotor to fit the back.. can I get this from Kona? or aftermarket?

    thanks.

Your running the G2 hayes calipers so that means you will need to get some 74mm 6" hayes IS to fit. You can get this on most any good sites. Universalcycles.com has them for cheap $10. And the rotor will have to be 160mm to fit also.

If the rotor is warping why not just get a new one? You might want to check your brake caliper alighnment. Check all the rotor bolts for tightness. Also be sure not to be hitting or leaning the rotor on anything while storing it.

I'd just buy a new rotor.

If you look around, you'll be able to find an 8" rotor for ~$30 - probably Aztec brand. The adaptor to go to the 6" rotor is gonna cost you about $15, so I'd just get the new rotor.

    My $.02....
