i recently got a used 99 kona stinky deelux, but its missing some parts. but i now have the chance to buy a complete 01 stinky primo.. is there any real differences between the two bikes, strength or travel wise that i should take into account?

Get the Primo if you can swing it. The Primo uses stronger tubing than the older model among other small changes that make it a better choice. Do a google search for "". They have an archive of all the older Kona models as well as a forum that may have some more useful info. Good Luck.

Go with the 01 DeeLux !!!
I had a 01 Primo and its the same frame , great bike , can be used for everything.
The 01s has the straight seattube as opposed to the earlier Stinkys so U can raise the seat for climbing/cruising and lower it all the way for going down.

thanks guys. i actually found out that its got a 01 stinky component set, but its an 02 primo frame (warranty replacment), so i get the killer red/white paint job and 6" of travel. now the choice becomes 99 marz jr-t fork or the 01 marz z1 sc
