    Kona Explosif ?'s

    Hi all

I am looking into building up a new mountain bike ( I am mostly a roadie and my current mountain bike is about 11 years old), I am intereseted in the Kona Explosif frameset. I am leaning towards steel , and the options unless I go cusom are pretty small.

Has anyone had problems with the bolt-on derailleur hanger or disk brake adapter. the brake adapter isn't a major issue as I planning to run V-brakes These are my major concerns. The bike won't be ridden really hard, but I will use it for some racing.

Any other suggestions on framesets. I am not agains aluminum, but would like to buildi the bike up myself.

That frame is the same as the Unit but with a dropout for a rear mech. The only issue that you may see is that the allen bolt stips easily when moving the droputs frequently. The problem is quickly solved by putting bolts with a longer so the allen wrench doesn't strips the bolt head.

I throw my Unit on any trail and the dropout has never slipped.
