Joe, I'll ask you again Please

I was kinda happy when I was told my 04 Kikapu had a 2nd shock mounting location for a more progressive feel through the midrange of the travel. However, upon inspection of the aft set of holes on the plate, they are obviously not for mounting a shock. You can see that one is drilled on an angle and anyway, the area is too narrow to fit. I tried and shock with bushings will not fit; even if it did, the body of the shock would not fit upon proximity to the seat tube. What are these set of holes then?

Those odd shaped holes are for weight savings. The round ones are for mounting shocks.

I didn't even know the weight saving cutouts were there. It was PUSH that told me I have another set of shock mounting holes on my Kikapu. That's cool, at least I know there wasn't a jig/fixture screw up!

    I had the same question

About my '04 Kikapu. My LBS said the second set of holes was just for weight savings.

    Ride on.

Ps. Please post a review of your Pushed Kikapu. I'm thinking of doing the same thing and would like to hear some feed back.

The Dawgs, Coilers, Stinkys and Stabs have two shock mounts. The Kikapu line does not. \

I'm anticipating it'll be more compliant and stick to the trail even better (less top end chatter).

    Joe.
So does it mean that in my Stinky 2004m the second set of holes is also capable of mounting the shock? I tried a bit but was put off a bit `cause it wouldn`t fit. So what`s the truth?
