2018 Kona Unit converting to geared

I recently bought a Kona Unit 2018 and will pick it up soon. I will do a three day bikepacking tour right after picking it up and want to put a cassette/gears on it before.
Since I can't check by myself I would like to know which tools I need to remove the single speed cog. Is it the same I would use to remove a Shimano cassette? I'm a bit of a layman concering bikes.
I have this tool for the cassette: 2018 Kona Unit converting to geared-bg9jyww6ly8vchjvzhvjdc80otmzmtdfms5wbmc.jpg

I also have a chain whip and the Kona derailleur hanger (Type CC)
Also if there's anything else I need to keep in mind please let me know.

Apart from the obvious (shifter, derailleur, cable, housing) and assuming you are not adding a front derailleur, you will want to make sure that the front chainring is a narrow wide style ring.
Based on FSA's and Kona's website, that should actually be ok:

If you zoom into the crankset area, it very much looks like it says "megatooth" on the chainring, and the ring looks like a narrow-wide style.

Nevertheless, check it out when you receive the bike. If not, you should change that one as well. As shown above the 2018 unit has an FSA Comet Modular crankset, so any new chainring will need to fit their mounting system. In case you're buying it from a shop, they should hopefully be able to supply the correct one.
If possible, I strongly recommend to use an oval chainring instead of a round one. Especially as you plan to be on a multi day tour, oval rings will help you conserve a lot of energy during those long days in the saddle (i made exactly that experience on a 3 day tour with a 10 speed Honzo ST).
Hope this helps (and sorry for stating the obvious in the first sentence).
    Enjoy your new rig!
Ah yes, pics would be highly appreciated
