2005 Unit fork axle to crown?

What is the axle to crown measurement for the stock fork on a 2005 Kona Unit?

I'm not 100% sure with the 2005, but the 2004 was 408 mm.

I don''t think that the length has changed in 2005. The 2005 Unit is still made for 80 mm travel.

Thanks, that explains why 100 mm feels so wrong.

408 mm is really short though. Aren't most 80 mm travel suspension forks somewhere around 450 mm axle to crown?

Yes - but the Unit doesn't use at suspension fork. It has a rigid P2 fork on it. I don't think that Kona has updated the P2 fork snce 2000

Besides that I don't think that the Unit would suffer very much form putting a longer fork on it

I have a Unit w/100 mm suspension fork.

The head tube angle feels too slack. I suppose 80 mm will help, but I wonder if it will really feel much different. I totally overlooked the headtube angle when I purchased this frame. I saw pictures of lots of Units with suspension forks, so I thought it would be fine and never gave it a second thought.

I have a 105mm fork (Zocchi EXR Pro Coil) on mine and like the way it rides.

When I was looking for a fork I contacted Kona about voiding the warranty if I installed a fork over 80mm of travel, the gave me a thumbs up for up to 105mm.
