Hi, on my Coiler, can't go much higher than 2.4, some 2.5 tyres will fit, the frame clearance is not the problem, it's when in the granny ring/large rear sprocket gear the chain catches the side knobs on the tread, does'nt seem to be anything really you can do to get round this apart from dish your wheel over, but this seems to be a bit extreme!

Cheers, I think I'll give a 2.5 a go - I hardly use the granny anyway, and also I'm upgrading to a close ration cassette which sould lower the chain line slightly. Cheers 4 the help.

Every tire is different. A Kenda Kinetics 2.6 fits fine. A WTB Timberwolf 2.5 is marginal.

Do you have a tire on your Coiler now?

If so, measure the clearances between the tire and swingarm/derailleur/seatstay.

Find your tire on my spec charts. Compare with other tires models listed. You can get a good idea what may work.
