    question on selling

i've got an '08 Jamis Dakar XLT 3.0 that I'm selling. mechanic at my lbs suggested that these things were a "hot commodity" among Jamis enthusiasts and it would probably sell quick.

i'm just curious if he's blowing smoke up my shorts or if he's speaking the truth. running a shimano drivetrain, I can get specific with more details when i get home. forgot if i've got all XT or some LX components on it.

the rear triangle was replaced after it cracked (manufacture defect).

That depends. Great bikes, until they crack, and that is fairly or unfairly Jamis' reputation. Most people who have ridden Jamis bikes really like them. Lot's of us have gone through the warranty process with good results. I'm personally on year 4 of a replacement frame with no issues.

I would definitely buy another Jamis. I would never buy a used one. I'm sure you could sell it quick if you're willing to accept a relatively low price. Maybe $400-500 if it's in really good shape?

Otherwise, whoever buys it from you won't be eligible for warranty replacements and will be SOL if/when it snaps again.
