Jamis Nova Pro versus Kona Jake the Snake

I'm looking into buying a cyclocross and using it as an all weather commuter. Both of these hit the right price point (~$1500) and here's their major features:

    Kona Jake the Snake
    http://www.konaworld.com/bike.cfm?content=jakethesnake
    -Aluminum frame, carbon fork
    -FULL Shimano 105 drivetrain
    -FSA Gossamer crank
    -Mavic Aksium wheelset
    -No weight listed

    Jamis Nova Pro
    http://www.jamisbikes.com/usa/thebik...apro_spec.html
-Aluminum frame w/carbon seatstays, carbon fork
-Shimano 105 STI brifters and derailleurs, KMC DX10SC chain, and Shimano CS-5600 chain
    -FSA Vero Cross crank
    -Alex AKX R2.0 wheelset
    -weight listed as 21.25 lbs

Would you have any thoughts on which is the better buy if both seem to fit fine? The Jamis seems to be lighter, with a higher-end frame, but how does its wheelset and crank compare to the Kona's? I know absolutely nothing about these components...

    Thanks if you can help...
