I've been searching hard for an affordable steel hardtail frame and came upon the Jamis Exile: http://www.jensonusa.com/store/sub/1...ed.aspx?s=2339 (I welcome any suggestions for any other steel frames around the same price point.)

It's a singleseed frame, but I'm actually hoping to run gears (please let me know if anyone thinks this is a poor choice for some reason). The problem is that I don't know what the main differences are between the 06 and 07 models. I see that the 07 model seems to be disc only and seems to have more brazed-on cable stops, but are these the only real differences? Is there any reason NOT to get the 07 over the 06 (the price difference is negligible)? Does anyone know where I can look up the tubing diameter and stuff so I know what size front derailleur clamp to get? Also, where can I look up for what level of suspension fork travel was the frame designed?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
