Experience/Impressions of Jamis X.20 for kids?

Can't find any good reviews or information on the X.20 that I'm thinking about picking up for my kid. Not sure if I want to get a mountain-style bike or a BMX-style for 6 year old.

I would probably pick one up that is used...probably 2011 or 2009.

Only issues I can find are:
Front shocks might be a waste for kids at this age (adds to weight)
The crank might be too long
    Not the lightest bike

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Frame is standard butted aluminum and has pretty darn nice geometry....great starter bike. Fork is really poor, just too much stiction and too stiff a spring....ditch it for a much lighter rigid cromo fork. Crank length is fine for most kids, but since it is solid aluminum it could be cut, drilled out, and tapped to a shorter length if so desired. Weight is normal for price range and spec, changing out fork would take a couple pounds off, and spending another 250 on wheels would take off another pound or two.

Got one for my daughter a year ago or so and she rides the crap out of it,singletrack, bike paths,Even been to Rays in Milwaukee. It is a good bike but is a crappy fork like them, all. She was just 6 when she got it and is now 7 and still fits her great.
