Who let all the eBikes on the Copper City trails?

Looked like a bunch of rentals being ridden by chubby white boys. Just sayin...
Nobody cares what kind of bike you ride.

Maybe they'll get hooked, ride more, then not be so chubby?

I'll take e bike riders over horses any day of the week.

    Who really cares?
I don't know what trail we're on, but at least it's getting dark

I agree. Not me. Ride whatever you want but no horses.

Gotta love e-bikes. They extend your range. Not to mention some great motorcycle trails become doable...and you're pedaling the whole way.
They make an old man young again.
Really, what's not to love about them?

This issue is they are not allowed on the trails out at Copper City. I dont own an ebike, but have zero issue with them. I feel like they should be allowed there, but they are not. It is posted in a few areas.
Many people worked many years and hours to get CC up and going, one of the stipulations was no ebikes. Will ebike traffic close the trails or limit future building? I have no idea, but the local club (SWMMBA) has been told it will.
I dont represent SWMMBA, but i am a member and feel they have done a great job. Any questions, go to them. They are very responsive.

I agree that SWMMBA has done a great job with Copper City. However I think that because of the Secretarial Order, and the preponderance of e-bikers out there on Copper City Trails, that now is exactly the right time to examine the access policy. I think it's SWMMBA's role to have an honest, open discussion with the BLM, and involve the rest of the public at some level of the process.
