    Trails/Blog/Stranger

First, Kudos to the forest service and SWIMBA and Individuals - I have never seen Eastside in better shape - just really good. Also some nice new rockwork completed. very cool.
Didn't help my not very good performance today, but still......

Also, the switchbacks on Tempest are really fun - hard to find any switchbacks around here with some technical challenges - those are fun.

Some horse groups up there today, on the singletracks......

Has anyone ever come across or know a guy who rides a light purple Kona unit 29r? Not many of those around. I came upon him up on Bogus today, asked a simple question about a trail, and then he started in and would not stop flapping about trail names and "oh, entrance exam, is that what they're calling it now" and how the trail is all blown out on that and the forest service did not intend that. I asked a simple question that was not antagonizing or baiting or anything like that and he launched into this diatribe. There was some prevalaling attitude to go along with it, and although unspoken, I suspect was along the lines of "I have lived here and ridden here on these trails longer than you". And look at you on full suspension, and me on a simple, elegant, rigid 29r", blah blah blah.

I've come across this person before, in the foothills, said hello, and got a wave of attitude or something. Weird.

If you know this guy, please advise to stay ON the meds.

I stay AWAY from guys who ride "purple units"..fortunately most of them hang on Hard Guy and usually wear tight lycra, sometimes even sporting Village People themed attire...

Be careful out there, there are some weird people in them hills
Hey, is that a Huffy? That's a nice-lookin' bike, boy!
