    Tahoe

    Never been, plan to go!

I am seriously considering a road trip to the Tahoe area over the 4th of July week(end).
I have never been in the area. I am thinking of camping unless there are enough people to consider a hotel.

Anybody up for a road trip?
I would love to go with somebody who has been there and/or knows the area.

I have parused some of the forums for a bit of information. I know that the Rim Trail is a must, but what else has anybody done? Any good camping sites?

    Let me know

I have been to tahoe for biking three times and would not recommend going during 4th of july weekend, becuase the place will be swarmed with people. I have always gone in september just after labor day and the trails are nice and quite and the campgrounds are open and available.

The rim trail and the flume trail are good fun as well as a number of trails just outside of lake tahoe like middle of the ground.

Make sure you check out the NorCal forum for Tahoe info.

I haven't ridden there, but have been to the Reno/Tahoe area during summer holidays. Reno....not too bad. Tahoe......OY!!!!! Weekend long traffic jams on the Nevada side. Heading south from Incline Village down to South Lake Tahoe can get crazy.
