On Saturday, September 11, Join SWIMBA for a fun, moderately technical 14 mile ride on the Prairie Lake to Miner Lake trails North of Ketchum. Although the mileage is about the same as a local Corrals loop, it will take us substantially longer to do this ride as it is just too gorgeous to not stop and enjoy the scenery. However, a good level of fitness is required for this ride as there is quite a bit of sustained climbing and some steep, rocky chutes on the way back. There are also two high alpine lake at the halfway point of the ride.

We'll have pot-luck snacks at the trailhead post ride so please bring your beverage(s) of choice, something to share and a comfortable chair...

To get to the trailhead from Ketchum: Drive north on Hwy 75 for 18.5 miles to Prairie Creek Road. Make a left on to Prairie Creek Road and drive 2.5 miles to the Prairie Lake trailhead. The ride will start at 10:00 AM sharp.

If we have enough time (and energy), we may also do an early evening easy Fox Creek or Adams Gulch loop before hitting Grumpy's or Lefty's for a liquid dinner...

On Sunday, September 12, join us for a 10 mile advanced ride on the Apollo Creek Trail north of Ketchum. This will be very much like a Lucky Ada "There will be Blood" ride but less mileage, more whining and possibly, a bit of a hike a bike - so pack plenty of snacks, water, tools, a first aid kit and plenty of good attitude as there will be plenty of strenuous climbing until we hit the top of the basin and the descent starts. Not very many people do this ride and there will be a mile of two where we have to navigate a meadow at 9,500 feet by following cairns.

As usual, we'll have pot-luck snacks at the trailhead postride so please bring your favorite beverage(s) and something to share and a comfortable chair.

To get to the trailhead from Ketchum: Drive North on Highway 75 for 15.5 miles and turn left onto Baker Creek Road. Go about 9.5 miles to the Baker Lake parking area. The ride starts here promptly at 9:00 am.
