I just got a phone call from Roger Phillips who is an outdoor writer for the Idaho Statesman newspaper. He wants to do feature piece on the Idaho City yurts and mountain biking the nearby trails. The department has reserved the Skyline Yurt Friday night for Roger's use. Roger is looking for about 4 to 5 experienced beginner to intermediate mountain bikers to feature. He will be doing a 10 to 15 mile mountain bike from the Skyline yurt to Lehn's Loop on Friday afternoon. On Saturday morning he will be doing another 10 mile ride near the Skyline yurt. I will be driving up Friday morning in a state vehicle to show Roger and the group of volunteer riders Lehn's loop. I will be heading back to Boise after the ride. Roger and the volunteers will cook a nice supper after the ride and will spend Friday night in the yurt. Volunteers can tent next to the yurt if you want. To participate you need not to be an experienced yurt user or expert mountain biker. You must be in good physical condition to ride about 10 to 15 miles, climbing 1500 feet in elevation. All you will need your sleeping bag and bike gear. Food is on you own unless Roger decides he wants to do group meals. If you would like to know more about the Skyline yurt please see this web site.

If you would like to join Roger and I on this excellent adventure please contact me as soon as possible so I can schedule you in.
