    Southern Idaho Enroute Ride

Heading down to Utah next week for a week of riding. Driving down hwy 15.

We'll leave Friday afternoon, camp somewhere after 6-10 hours of driving (truck camper). That would probably put us in southern Idaho late Saturday morning when it would be nice to stretch the legs and get the dogs a little exercise.

Any suggestions on a dog friendly area we could head out for a ride for an hour or two? Open to anything, even if it's only a rail grade that's easy access from the hwy, or we could deviate if some good mtbing was available.

Pocatello has worthwhile riding but that's as much as I know having not ridden it myself.

FYI, the roadside rest area just outside Blackfoot is a decent place to crash for the night and there are interpretive trails winding through the lava field to take an evening stroll on.

It won't quit flippin' raining in East Idaho, I swear. Today it's around 50, scattered showers, and the wind is howling out of the SE.

You might try Idaho Falls. There's a greenbelt you can get a few miles of paved scenic riding in on, and a nice sized dog park north of town near the river.
