Show an Oregonian around Boise trails on Monday 10/16?

Show an Oregonian around Boise trails on Monday 10/16?

I'll be in Boise for work next week and I'm brining the Unit so that can get away on Monday for a good ride.
Never ridden in ID before so I'm looking for a good 3 to 4 hour tour of the trails right from town on Monday. .....assuming that the trails are still snow free?

Anyone up for showing an Oregonian single speeder a cool ride?
I'll repay the favor if anyone ever gets to Oakridge OR.

The trails will be snow-free for a little while...
Unfortunately, a good bit of folks on this board (including me) work during the weekdays so we're down to doing 1 to 1.5 hour rides after work... However, the trail system out of Boise is pretty easy to navigate since you can always see the town in case you're lost and have to get back.
Try this site for trail maps and info: http://www.ridgetorivers.org/
I'm sure you'll hear from the SS'rs on this board about which trails to hit for a good 3 or 4 hour ride... My recommendation would be:
    Corrals-Crestline- Trail 4-Sidewinder-Crestline-Military Reserve Loops...
    Have fun on your visit!

    No Takers?

    Thanks Flipin', for the recomendation.

No one else able to call in sick Monday?
Come on. You know you're starting to feel a chest cold coming on?
Only so many more perfect fall days of riding left?

Well ok., ......I'll be on mail checking now and again.
Plan on leaving the hotel on bike by 10am on Monday.
Let me know if anyone is up for it.
Always like catching up with a local to get the inside scoop.

Well, come out to Oakridge OR anyhow sometime and we'll show you guys a good times and some killer rides.

    Show Tadpole a god time

    Tadpole,
Tom will meet you at the entrance to the VA Hospital (Fort street/5th Street) at 0930 on Monday, if you're interested. He'll be driving a maroon Mazda P/U with MTN BKR plates. Tom can show you about everything there is to see in the foothills. I'll PM you with more details. jeff aka HTNEWB

    Many thanks Tom!

Thanks Jeff, for hooking me up with Tom.
.....the bad part is that I realize now that I called him Dave on our parting.
Ah, that's the way it goes sometimes.
You'll have to pass on my apologizes.

Anyhow, Tom and I had a great ride today.
We were both worried as the weather was questionable after last night's deluge.
But the sand seemed to soak it up pretty well, very little standing water and the trails were in great shape come morning.

We started out at the military res. and went up a bunch of different trails that seemed to have a bunch of different names.
Anyhow, climbed up to the Boise ridge and then bombed back down again.
We were only on the 8th street road for a short steep stretch near the top.

......By the time we got to the ridge, ......part of me wished that I had brought gears!
32X18 wasn't bad, but I felt it at the end.

You guys have a good thing here in Boise.
Come to Mt. Bike Oregon and/or Oakridge and we'll show you another good thing.

    Best,
    Abe
