    Shingle Creek trail near Riggins

Anybody know anything about this trail beyond the info that's given below?

    http://www.dirtworld.com/trails/trai...20Bike%20Trail

Do the directions look like I should be able to follow them? What's the trail surface like? Looks like potentially a fun ride.

Do it as an out and back first to scout it. Ride up from the Rapid River fish hatchery as far as you can. Some friends backpack that area quite often in the spring, good trail from what I hear.
Just ride down there and jump off something for crying out loud...

Happened last spring- just as the snow was melting and everyone in McCall was itching to go ride it. CIMBA's working with WS, ICL, and FS to find an alternate low-elevation trail in the area.

I was under the impression it was just the river corridor that was closed. This trail comes down a ridge and ends either at Rapid River or at Shingle Creek. I can't tell from the description which trail it is.

Also- out and back on a 5,000 foot descent? Ick.

Hmmm, you might be right. I thought this was the trail that comes from the south and connects into the Rapid River trail (in the corridor). Shingle Creek and Shingle Creek Road comes in from the north right before the fish hatchery and would be outside the corridor. Definitely worth looking into.

    Shingle Creek

Hey I am the one who posted the Shingle creek ride. If you get a descent FS map you can find the trail fairly easily. Once your on it it is easy to follow until you get near the bottom. Once at the bottom just ride the trail that is best used and it will get you down. This is a long descent so be prepared it will kick your butt if you have problems...
    Cheers

Is there any way you could draw this trail on a map? I've looked at it, but am not sure if I'm seeing the right trail. Do you end at the private road near the fish hatchery or do you end on rapid river trail?
