... and if we just ... Rock Island on Friday the 30th

I'm finally getting Big Peggy back this week. I'm hoping to hit up Rock Island after work on Friday sometime betwixt 6-6:30pm. I'd love to have someone up there spotting my fat ass as well as taking some somewhat decent pix of me for the Wall of Shame at the store.

    Nick

Nick, I'm probably up for that. I don't think that I have Fri. night plans, and I've not had the opportunity to crash on the rocks yet this year.

You may need to send me a reminder. My memory was never good, and seems to be getting worse.

    Yo Nick

If I can talk Dean into letting me borrow his 29er I'll meet you up there. My frankin bike is in Salt Lake. Dean bought a new HiFi and kept on me to give it a spin so when I finally did it did not turn out so good. We were riding the green belt back home from RI so I thought green belt... can't hurt... it pedaled it self on the asphaltand and I found out why I couldn't kep up with Dean , green belting on my Yeti. So we we made it up the black cinder trail that comes buy the water tank up on to the rim, Columbia Village. I ride thru our little green belt beside my house hop off an 18" rock and the danged bike folds in half. Lucky for me Gary Fisher and the local shop took care of it. It will be harder for me to ask than it will be for Dean to respond about borrowing the 29er I'm sure.
I read your post about your Yeti being at John's and talked to Steve and Daryl a bit and decided my Yeti needed some of the same teatment. I was going to wait till the next time I went to Salt Lake to take her in, but the fork is just leaking to bad. John is going to do all the pivots and a few tuneup things and send the fork and shock in to Push. My clidesdale build demands some different valving.
I saw Peggy there and she turned out saweeeeeet. I jiggled with her a little (hope you dont mind) and she is tight now. I didn't shamelessly bounce on her, I'll let you have the first go. Those pivots are tight... what a difference.
So hopefully Fri. I'll finally get to shake your hand instead of just a passing hello on the green belt.
    Am I being kind?

I hope you guys have a great time - I was ready to go but have nagging stiff neck from yesterday probably from doing situps incorrectly. Thought would be gone by now, so chillin out with advil rather than maybe aggravating it more.

    rain check!

Yup...still planning on being up there. Just don't know what time I'm leaving the office and which way I'm going up. But I'll eventually be there.

So, had a good experience for my first time at RI, and got to see some people who actually knew what they were doing. Wow, how easy they can make it look.
Unfortunatly, I found the next weak link in my bike, the headset star nut took a crap, and will not hold the headset tight, so off to the bike shop for an upgrade.

Friday was fun. Good to see alot of folks up there.

I had a really dumb crash towards the evening and I'm still sore from it . It probably doesn't help that I had to work all day yesterday too. Ugh.

I'm hoping to make Table Rock/Castle Rock/Rock Island a a weekly thing. Fun times!!!

And I know it's been said before, but big THANKS!!! to Ian, Brad, Cook, etc. for putting together Rock Island. So much fun (and challenging for me)!!!

Oh....did anyone watch the gal on the black Turner? Man she was good!!!!

Uhhhh good question. At least another hour or so after you left I think. I think we got back down to the parking lot by 8:30pm.

Get your headset worked on and try to be there next Friday (I think).

As of right now it looks like the weather is suppose to be good for Friday so let's plan on being up there sometime after 5pm. As always...I have no clue what time I'm leaving work and which route I'm taking up. All I know is that I'll eventually be there.

Looks like "Lucky 11" is moving to "Lucky Rock Island" minus the adult beverages.

I hope I ain't too lazy to pop on my flats for Friday though. That was one of the things that lead to my stupid crash the other night.

    Why minus the refreshments? Illegalities?

And take the time to slap those flats on Nick, it takes all of 5 minutes and makes a world of difference! We can put them on in the parking lot if you want.

Who wants to head up to the Islands tonight and at what time? For those who are a little sketchy on it, we can do some spotting and coaching. It'll be a blast!

I was going to do a "fat burning" climb up Hard Guy to get ready for my fat burning ride tomorrow in the Danskins LOL! But I'll go for a RI session.

I think I get off at 5 today but can be there probably 6:30 or so?

That would be cool...any way you and any other folks could meet at the Old Pen parking lot a little earlier than 6:30? We've got a Good Friday BBQ to attend at Justin and his wife's crib..

    Thanks.

    CP

P.S. Just did a nice roadie out in the back roads - my legs got worked. Wow.

Nick's in PHX...not riding. I think I am not hitting it up tonight after all, but rather tomorrow morning with Travis from Lewiston. We're meeting at the Old Pen parking lot at 8:30 - anyone else caring to join us can come on out. Seeya!
