Owyhee Trail Day Saturday November 6th

Owyhee Trail Day Saturday November 6th

We will be building a new mountain bike specific trail out in the Owyhees at the Wilson Creek Unit. The trail will be hand built and separate bikes from horses in the echo canyon area.

SWIMBA will provide all of the tools and also cliff bars for on the trail snacks. We will also lead a ride after the trail day for those who want to stick around.

    When: Saturday, November 9th
    Meet:
Carpool at 8am from the Bogus Park and Ride in Boise
    or
9am at the main Wilson Creek Parking Lot
    Live to ride!

    Details!

    On details I insist.
    • Brand-new from-scratch not-even-a-dent-in-the-sageboosh-yet hand-built trail? Or existing trail retrofitted to the MTB mojo?

    • Separate horses from bikes? As in filters and picks through which horses won't pass? Or just signage and good graces? Horses are pretty fuggin insidious.

    • Echo Canyon? Where be that? Unless you've gone and renamed some place already well known to everyone else.

    • Have you the endorsement of the BLM?
Nobody cares what kind of bike you ride.

This is a brand new from scratch trail.

    • Separate horses from bikes? As in filters and picks through which horses won't pass? Or just signage and good graces? Horses are pretty fuggin insidious.

This will be a technical trail and from my understanding the horses want to go down W261 so this is the route for mountain bikers that will go around. W261 will be signed as the recommended horse route, but I don't think they can specifically close this trail to horses.

    • Echo Canyon? Where be that? Unless you've gone and renamed some place already well known to everyone else.

Look on the map for W261 and you see a route around the trail this is the one we will be building.

    • Have you the endorsement of the BLM?

I've never had BBQed also before.

Steve: If that pic doesn't get interest, then there is no hope for humanity.

I haven't run the GPS out there for a while so I'm not up to date. The maps below show the location better than the coarse-grained BLM cartoon.
