Nice looking plate. Bonus... No spandex! More appealing than Famous Potatoes.

    Very impressive.
It looks much nicer than the other Idaho vanity plates out there.

I am jealous because the WA cycling plate is lame. That looks really great.

    Best of all, it's non-expiring!

The funny thing is, the graffic has the Sawtooths in the background, therefore was taken from the Boulder-White Clouds. In other words, the trails soon to be closed due to CIEDRA.

Funny, not as in "hah hah", but funny as in "bizarro world"

    Oh, the paradox!

Alas, Mr. Castledesigner, that's too many letters. New, non-personalized specialty plates will soon go to 6 alphanumeric characters (they may already have), but they still will only allow 5 characters on a personalized specialty plate.

    So, "CIMBA" would still fit...

I like that the emphasis seems to be on mountain biking specifically and not trails so much, even tho' they are multi-use.

and the irony of mtn bikes associated with trail preservation rather than trail degradation, the naybobs wildest claim.

Awesome! I will be getting one as well.

Just curious, why January? My plate expires in December so I am either going to go rogue for a month or just keep the sticker in my car to show anyone who might pull me over before I get my true plate :-)

The law enabling sales of the plate doesn't become effective until 1/1/11. That's how all the specialty plate laws are written - they are passed one session, and then become effective the following January 1. It gives ITD the time to get the plate programming done. And, considering I'm about a month behind schedule getting them the final design, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they can get it done by 1/1.

As for registering, you can buy a new plate for your car at any time - you don't have to wait for registration time. When you buy a new plate, they will prorate your existing registration. So, if you renew in December, you can buy a new plate in January and they will only make you pay 1 month of registration, since you've already pre-paid 11 months. Your renewal would then next come due in January 2012, instead of December.

Here's a full explanation of how plate registration works: http://idmtbtrailassoc.blogspot.com/...nd-buying.html

Earthpig is the Spearhead. he's the mang. If we can do this in Idaho, you should be able to do it in your sleep in OR. Your guy will be hucking something on Post Canyon or at Black Rock.

Dude needs a beard - or some kind of wierd facial hair. That way he'd look like a true American legend.

    I said facial. Teeheeheee.

Check the "Passion" board for the whole story. It was truly a labor of love.

Nice Plate! I might have to move back to Idaho so I can get one. I like BoiseBoy's horse plate too....definitely needed here in Elko Nevada!
