"John Wheaton, a Boise mountain biker, said the bill appeals to “a small group of mountain bikers who feel entitled to do anything they want in the wilderness.

“We don’t want these people’s support,” said Wheaton. “There are so many other places open to mountain bikes.”

In my personal experience, and judging by comments on bike forums, the bikers who support the bill are the vaaaaast majority. I wonder if John Wheaton really is a mtn biker. If he is on here, maybe he can expand on his opinion...

Liz Cheney can be reached at 202-225-2311 ....the rationale that bicyclists scare horses can be used to exclude cyclists from the majority of all bikable trails. Right now, Liz is getting calls from anti-cyclists by the hand full and not a peep from cyclists. Liz could be the determining factor in getting access to land where we belong.

The folks that think wilderness needs to be protected from mountain bikers should go out and look at the horse damage near Boulder white clouds.

Mr. Wheaton did not disclose he is associated with the Idaho Trails Association, a hiking advocacy group.
