Less than 4 months to go....

Yes! Only 4 more months before it's cold, wet and the trails are too muddy to ride!! The BEST time of the year! And, I'm sure your favorite. More time to curl up on the couch, drinking the finest malt liquor out of a bum bag and catching up on all that midget porn on your TiVo.

Good times, winter. Ol' Man Winter. Such a jokester. Like a crazy old aunt, hoarding cats and cooking meth.

(Oh, and don't forget to put aside a little dough for your new mountain bike license plate. They go on sale January 2, 2011, at your local Tranportation Department office. This is pretty close to what you'll see.)

That feller on the MotoLite is so teeny weeny. I'd sell that bike and get something with he-man-sized wheels if I were him.

and, $25/year to keep the plate - which goes to the wildlife fund..

    Sweetness.

Somehow, someway, I'll have your arse out hitting up the jumps at the bike park in the freeze. Maybe it'll just take a few salad lunch outings...

License plates are for cars and cars kill bikers. Therefore a mountain bike license plate is a license to kill. I'm just sayin.

Winter is about putting on boutique manpris and humping the CX.

Or dancing with frostbite on nigh trides.

Or getting insanely high on Velveeta-groomed skate trails in a full force sunstorm. Swole. Dab.

Same purchase and renewal fee for the mountain bike plate - $35 up front, and $25 every year you renew (on top of your base renewal/registration fees.)

I'm hoping to lure people away from the wildlife plate, skiier plate, etc...with this one. (Seems like a LOT of mountain bikers I know have one of the wildlife plates - I had one for a while.)

As for those extra fees, did you know that the extra purchase and renewal fee for the skiier plate goes to...the Idaho Department of Commerce? It does NOT go to your local ski area. What does the Department of Commerce do for your mountain biking trails?

    Jack squat.

The extra fees for the wildlife plates (all 3 of them) go to Idaho Fish and Game's "Nongame Wildlife Program." Which, apparently, has something to do with those exciting activities like...birdwatching...and...birdfeeding. From what I can tell, the fees for the wildlife plates do nothing for our trails or our sport.

(Birdfeeding would be really cool if you were feeding pterodactyls. Feeding them things like Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan.

I could get behind that and buy a wildlife plate.)

But, I'd rather support the trails.

Remember, the extra fee you pay for the mountain biker plate will go directly into a fund for trail maintenance, trail creation and trail improvements. And ONLY on trails that are OPEN to mountain biking!

Now there's something we can all get behind, right?

And Twisted - cars don't kill people. People driving cars with "2C" on the license plate kill people.

Lest ye forget, you don't choose the bike. The bike chooses you. You are now and forever immortalized on a MotoLite. When you are ready for the right bike, then the bike shall find you.

Sorry, per ITD, no more than 5 alphanumeric characters on personalized specialty plates, even with ITD's new "honey, I shrank your graphic image" format.

    Try again, ladies.

    Here are some ideas:

"SPAKL" - that's for our esteemed moderator.

"GOD4X" - of course, for Bombin.

"BOOBS" for you and your hot cowgirls, arnott.

"IBHDA" for Mr. Trail Builder Irish guy.

"COCKS" - garnetspur (South Cackalaky will rise again!)

"WWRLD" for wayndar - because, it's his world.

    "SMELY" for smilycook.

"SWOLE" - yeah, you know who you are.

    And last. But not least.

    For laffeaux:

    "DRTRD."

    Because they're social and fun.

Roger that. Apparently the Moto didn't want to go, so it regains its spot of honor in the fleet. Right next to the bike with the man-sized wheels.
