    Kila -Old Railroad Grade

Looking for some insight into this trail as I have not been able to find much about it on the net. Interested in it as I am assuming it may have gentle grades and is “wife friendly”.

is this trail rideable? What is the parking situation as Trailforks does not currently show a lot.

it is an old railroad grade- the original route that led to the settling of the area, paved and with very gentle grade. i have never ridden it so i cannot speak to parking, it is parallel to us 2 so there will be some traffic nearby-might be far enough away to not be an issue. There is also a trail along the route of the new kalispell bypass which i believe it intersects. That trail i believe goes to somers on flathead lake.

    an overview of the area

wheatons cyclery should be able to help out.

Also a really interesting section of that old RR bed runs from Wolf creek rd north of libby up to The north side of Bitteroot lake near marion- its all dirt and runs through woods and a wildlife refuge
