    Jug Mtn Sat AM?

Anyone want to join me? For all the years I've been visiting McCall, this will be my first time checking it out. Early Sat AM. 7? 8? Beat the heat....

Waynadar, should we finally make this happen?

Oh man, the one weekend I'm heading to Boise this summer. Definitely go ride JMR though. The extended DoJo is great although it is drying out. Fyi, the NICA team will be there from 9 to 11 so there will be an impressive number of kids on the trails at that time. Don't worry though, they're fast and courteous.

Cool I'm going to explore solo. And yes, dry, fires every where. Summer.

Got it 12.5 miles, hooked up with a local couple who took me out of bounds a bit but I had a great time.

I will be driving over to Idaho this weekend to do some fly fishing but will have 3 days to do some riding. Was looking into heading up to McCall for a few days. Is there a preferred loop for Jug? I'm a older trail rider so I don't do any crazy downhill stuff. But would like to do some of the fun flow stuff. Prefer not to just ride up the main road if possible.
Also is Bear Basin a good place to ride? is there a prefered loop here as well?
Was thinking about lifts at either Tamarack or Brundage is one place better than the other? I'm not a full face helmet person. Want to bring my steel hardtail but if its recomended I have a f/s trail bike.
    Thanks

It took a bit of map/trailforks study, but here's what I did. I wanted to skip the dirt road ride, so I went N. Elk-Harper Hollow-Vandelay. I met a couple out there who took me off map on some forest roads, ended back up on Shoreline and then descended Vandelay-Harper Hollow back to the trailhead. The climbing UP HH/Vandelay was a piece of cake. It's very nice forest singletrack. This sounds like what you would enjoy.

Bear Basin is fun too but it's been a while since I've been out there.

If the shuttles are running, I'd be careful climbing Vandelay - there are some blind corners and people coming down. The new Doe Joe is a blast as is Vandelay and Rolling Rock. Berm and Ernie is a lot fun, but might be pushing your comfort zone a bit.
