Gardener Peak Trail Work Day Sat, 7-19

If you would like to see the latest and greatest new trail SWIMBA is working on come out for some fun in the sun.
Some will be riding up meeting at Highland School at 7:00 AM and riding the dirt to the trail head (about 3 hours). If you want to drive up there will be a group leaving from Highland School at 10:00 AM.
If you drive up the directions to the trail are to go to Deer Point and head down the Ridge Rd about mile to Rd 275B, it is the first RD on your left after you pass Deer Point. I will put orange tape to direct everyone to the trail from there.
There will be food and drink so come and join in the fun.
If someone would like to come up with some better directions go for it.

Give me a call at 841-2660 if you have any questions,

    Dan

    I'm in

I will move the tool stash from Bogus. I should have a couple of McCleods, Pulasks, Mattocks and some clippers. If I can peel the Rogue Hoe from my daughters hands I will bring that or make her come up and swing it.

Is there any saw work or can we leave the chainsaw at home?

    See you Saturday!

    Chris -

Hopefully I'll see TFloyd tontght, and get the gear from him. Are we the only ones showing up? So far it is just yourself, Dan, me, and Mike E AKA the usual crew. All the better, we'll have that trail for ourselves until the word gets out.

I'm going to have to drive up and in my current condition I'll be somewhat useless for trail work, but plan to provide plenty of moral support. Chris if you bring the grill to the SWIMBA mtg tonight... I'll take it up with me on Sat.
    Am I being kind?

In the name of all that is holy let's just hope that this isn't another Old Man Riding downhill in the little chainring horror show. Nod nod wink wink.

Let me know when you're ready to map this.
Nobody cares what kind of bike you ride.

I fired myself from trail layout.

We put Chris Cook and Al in charge of trail lay out. No Meeker corners. There is even a berm. Scary isnt it.

I just seen the progress from the first time i walked the trail .'
Does anyone want to get another work day going on a weekday ??
Monday -Wednesday would be better for me .
By not allowing the progression of trails your cheating everyone out of their potential.

Old Man Riding (Quote #1) I fired myself from trail layout.

Wouldn't have anything to do with bad directions, would it?

Old Man Riding (Quote #2) If someone would like to come up with some better directions go for it.

Nah, they were probably good enough.

I looked around for the road yesterday, so as to get a looksie on whats going on up there. Never found road 275B, but was pretty sure I knew where you meant. I believe you meant Road #275C.

Just keeping you honest Old Man.

I cut a load of firewood today and finally found road #275B. It turns up into BB ski area.

    275c

It is hard to find the entrance. We are hiding it from the throttle junkies until we get the signage up. After you go past the gate on 275C look for a trail to the right (about 100 yards) just before you go dawn the steep section.

Recent e-mail from Larry D, USFS:

"Just so you know, all of the trails that currently take off the Bogus Basin road are planned to be closed once the Lower Bogus Trailhead and Stackrock Trail are completed (sometime this Spring,)" in reference to upper elevation riding in the Boise National.

    I'm crying in my beer...
