    Driggs area fires?

    Hi all,

I'm taking the family to the Driggs/Grand Targhee area next week and was wondering about wildfires in the area?

We were smoked out of Sun Valley a couple of years ago and I don't want a repeat.

That area maybe gettting some smoke from the Hamilton fire, which is further north. My boyfriend was riding Targhee pass (MT-ID border) on Sunday and said it was smoky. Sun Valley/Ketchum is getting some smoke from the Idaho City fire. It might be hazy, but I don't think you'll get smoked out... unless another fire starts.

Teton Valley is currently getting some smoke primarily from the Cliff Cr. fire southeast of Jackson, when the wind is blowing that way. There are no local fires in Teton Valley at the moment.

Many western states provide wildfire smoke impact reports.

Currently very smoky due to two fires. Thought this thread could use an update.

Yeah, yesterday was brutal, mostly due to a fire just off of Pine Cr. Pass.

Winds shifted today, and it wasn't as bad. Cooler temps as well, so hopefully they'll be able to get this one under control quickly.

I think most of the smoke (here in JH was from the Henry fire. Could you see flames from the tie Canyon fire from the Valley? That reminds me, I haven't ridden Black Grove in probably ten years...is it all ATV trail now? I thought I read that somewhere...

Chance of showers tomorrow. It'd be nice if it knocked down the smoke before the weekend (he thought selfishly).

Targhee and Horseshoe aren't too bad, but Mail cabin and Red Creek and Teton Pass will be poor choices. Cross your fingers for some rain.

Couldn't see flames from Victor since the fire is one ridge over, but lots of smoke.

A friend rode Mill Cr. yesterday and said it wasn't bad over there.
