DH in March in ID could be interesting since there could be much snow on the ground at that time of year and of course the local resorts wouldn't be your best option unless you've got one of these http://nsmb.com/gear/smx2_10_06.php . What part of ID were you considering visiting (Northern, SW, SE)? It's not a small state.

    Wait until June/July

I don't know of anything in N. Idaho that is downhill open in March. There is some XC that can be found, but even XC trails are slim. Good luck finding something!

the only kind of DH riding that's going to be in Idaho in March is skiing or snowboarding.
That's usually the best month to don the tele's, AT's, DH board, snowboards or whatever you use to slide down the hill. I'd leave the DH bike at home and bring the skis.

Only other option might be Spokane, and hitting Beacon. Spokane warms up a bit faster and has more trails open. Beacon would be the spot,,, contact Formica, her club is active at Beacon

When I graduated from HS, all I got was a damn watch. No trips for me! And like a one month stint working at the Caldwell Simplot plant. Man did that suck ass!!! How my mom is doing it STILL...I have no damn clue.
