    Curly Lake

I'm heading out monday to to do Curly Lake solo. Having not done it before I'd just like to know if navigation is an issue or if by using the description in SingleTracks Montana I should be o.k. Any tips?

    thanks,
    Sean

Rode it two years ago with the wife and had no problem following the Montana Singletrack book's description. Riding it this weekend, weather permitting. Have fun, bring lots of water and prepare to be tired at the end!

It's basically just two turns (up the road, make a right, go to the top, proceed down and make a right) if you go by the book.

If you want to 'shorten' the ride, you can chose to ride up Curly Creek (which is more of a hike a bike than the book route) but it does cut off the roughest parts of the road ride, a mile or two and the downhill before the Lake...

Awesome trail! Hooked up mid ride with one rider from Billings and 3 from Missoula. A good time was had by all. Perfect weather and sweet views from the top. Will do that one again for sure. Thanks to al for the info!

There is no closing date. the weather will do it on its own. Managed by Mother Nature.
I don't know what trail we're on, but at least it's getting dark

Rode it again on Saturday, and it was in great condition, minus a couple moto-ed spots. I couldn't believe how few people were there given the awesome weather.
