    Crazy bike raffle in Montana

We are having a local raffle to raise money for a trail system evaluation in Kalispell Montana. We will be raffling off 4 high end mountain bikes; 2011 Specialized Evo, 2010 Specialized Big Hit, 2011 Kona Operator, and a 2011 Trek Scratch. At the raffle we will be handing out DVDs, T-shirts, and helmets that have been donated by local bike shops and online retailers. Prizes and bikes amount to almost $20,000!! Tickets will be $10 each or 15 tickets for $100.

Help us raise money for our trails by buying raffle tickets.

Is this only available to folks in the great state of MT? Would others have to drive across the border to visit one of your fine bike shops to take place? Must be present to win? I think you know what I am getting at here

If you live in Montana, check out this raffle. I know these folks and would vouch that the organizers are top people and will be good for it. Odds to win are likely decent as well, since the amount they are trying to raise for a trail assessment is reasonable... oh, and the bikes are really sweet, too!

You do not need to be present to win. Tickets need to be bought in Montana.

No you do not get to pick the size, unless you win a bike that our sponsor has a different size in stock... there is no gaurantee, but it is possible to get a different size.

We have raised $10k so far. We need to raise another $15k. Thanks to everyone that has bought tickets.

Thanks to everyone that has bought tickets so far. We are over 1/2 way there.

Im sort of surprised at you Montana guys on the forums though. I thought there would be a little more discussion about this.
This could be a huge step for mountain biking in Montana.

I'll have to get the in-laws to buy some tix for me.

    When does the raffle end?

Hey folks......there are a ton of MT bike shops that are selling tix. So, head on in to your favorite to buy some 'spring cleaning' bike parts and pick up a ticket while you're at it!!

The implications of this (via precedent) are pretty cool if we make it succeed! Plus, there are some sick bikes in the raffle.

The raffle is for financing required studies for the proposed trail system. From the video I saw, it's going to be first class riding on great terrain.

I'll be buying a couple tickets as soon as possible. I am not a freerider type. But it's for a super good cause.
I don't know what trail we're on, but at least it's getting dark

There will be all types of trails. XC folks will be able to do loops by riding the roads up and trails down. The trails will range from easy to expert and will be all mark accordingly. We are hoping to make this a mountain biking destination.

Thanks to eveyone that has bought tickets so far. We are getting pretty close to our goal, but have not made it yet. If this raffle fails it will be the Forest Service winning again. We need to stand up and be heard. Please buy tickets and show your support.

I know a lot of you have bought $100 packets. If you can scrape another $100 together before June 1 please buy another packet. There is so much time and money invested in this trail system and raffle it would be a shame to see it fail. There are about 2000 hours invested between about 4-5 people so far and about $10,000 dollars.

Please go to your local bike shop and buy tickets!!

Do Leipheimers or Bob Wagonner in Butte know anything about this? I would love to buy a ticket or two.

The only thing I know is the Butte bike shop we called didnt want to sell tickets. Im not sure his reasoning. He was the only shop we called that turned us down.

One month and one week left to buy tickets for the raffle. This could be huge for Montana. The Forest Service is actually working with us.

Go to your local bike shop and ask about Crane Mountain Trails Raffle and get some tickets!!

Only a couple more days left to buy tickets. It doesnt look like we are going to make our goal. Not even close. We will be lucky if we break even after paying for the bikes, the movie premier, and all the costs for the raffle.

I am very disappointed in the bike shops in Montana. Some bike shops didnt even sell ONE ticket... not even ONE. Some shops didnt even put the posters up, when they said they would. Misty's Salon in Missoula sold the most tickets. Yes a nail, hair, and tanning salon. They sold about 100 tickets!!

Thanks to all those that contacted me and bought tickets. And to those that didnt even buy one ticket... dont complain when the Forest Service takes away more trails.

    raffle

I'm sorry to hear about the lack of participation. I know Ben at Summit was really pushing the raffle, but I can't speak for others. When will the winner be announced? Or has it already happened?

All the winners have been called. Only one bike hasn't been picked up yet.

200 people showed up for the premier and we sold a ton more tickets the last few days before the raffle. We ended up making a pretty good profit just not the entire amount.
