    Boise conditions?

    Hey all,

Figured I'd ask, heading to Boise for work next week. Is anything ride-able yet, or is it all wet, snowy, muddy etc? Trying to figure out if I bring the bike or not.

    Thanks for any input

The sandier trails should be ok if we get a few days without rain. There will be some mud and the weather has been pretty unpredictable this year.
These guys post daily updates on the trail conditions on facebook. https://www.facebook.com/boisefoothi...WSFEED&fref=nf

    Hope that helps

Should be good to go next week. You'll just have to stick to the lower trails and may have to adjust your planned route if you too many muddy sections.

Trails were mostly firm and fast this weekend on the Boise front.
    Get ready to go fast

So I heard yesterday while skiing at the mountain (Baldy) that you guys are riding pretty high already. How high up are things open and riding well??

We got some pretty heavy rain in Boise today and it looks like the snow line moved up quite a bit. I rode Fat Tire Traverse yesterday it had a few puddles, but was mostly dry. I know a few people have been at least as high as 5 Mile Gulch, not sure how wet it was. I don't have the legs to get there yet. Its been a long winter.

Yes, and we are a long ways off from riding dirt, even roads or out Croy in the Sun Valley area. Glad to hear things are coming along over there. My daughter starts her Boise League soccer in early April, so will be over there, and will be sure to bring my bike!

I may be in Boise in mid-May. How are the back country trails typically looking that time of year?

There will be a lot available to ride then. Most trails below 5-5500 feet in elevation will be open. Trails above that will most likely have snow still.
