Anyone go to the Sawtooth Mtn Film Festival...

last Friday at BSU? If not, you missed a couple incredible mountain biking movies. Some of it was local riders and terrain shot up near McCall/Tamarack. The trials guy was friggin' amazing - he wasn't local though...northwest US I think...close enough. There was another short film about two guys who rode their bikes to the Arctic Ocean - funny ****.

Anyway, If you were there, do you remember the names any of the biking films?

"Kranked 6" was the one up at Tamarack. I didn't realize "Kranked" used local riders. Who were they? I just assumed that the riders were the same ones we've seen in other flicks.

"Pedal to the Midnight Sun" was the one about the blokes that rode in Alaska.

    I think laffeuax went.

Uhhhhhhh...may be I'm talking out my ass. I thought the McCall video was local guys. To be honest, I wouldn't recognize a pro mountain biker from a shoe salesmen - paddle porn is more my bailiwick.

How 'bout that kite boardin video, huh? It was pretty extreme, man! Half way through it, my friend's wife leaned over and asked me if it was serious. She thougt it was one of the mockumentaries. I cringed everytime they did an interview and those guys were getting all philosphical and profound about getting dragged all over the Camas Prairie on a snowboard. Apologies if any of you were involved - i just call 'em like I see 'em.

The Tamarack trails were local, but I don't think that the riders were. It was a really fun video none the less. And yeah, the bike ride through Alaska was an excellent video - one the better ones I thought.

A friend of mine was in the kite boarding video. I know that she thinks it's a blast - one of the most fun things that you can do in the snow. I've heard lots of stories about it, but that was my first time seeing it. I used to watch the guys doing that on wake boards in the ocean, so I had a pretty good idea of what to expect. Although hitting the ground probably hurts a lot more than hitting the ocean, it seems a lot safer to do it on skiis, as the opportunity to kitting all the way to Japan does not sound like something I'd be up for.
Each bicycle owned exponentially increases the probability that none is working correctly.

None of the riders in Kranked are local, and Tamarack was all that was local riding.
