    Almost there in Missoula

First real offroad ride of the season. Things are not quite ready for prime time out there around Missoula, but almost.

Trail conditions were mixed, but mostly rideable.

    Plenty of sticky mud.

    Beautiful views.

    My co-pilot.

A little road ride back down to town.

    A satisfying early season loop.

For me, riding bikes is not a hobby, it is a way of life.

Excellent. Keep those western montana updates coming. Billings rim trails were good last weekend, but this recent wetness has messed them all up again.

The trails/FS roads are a long ways off from being ride-able. That's a plowed road, so it's passable earlier.. just an fyi for those that aren't familiar.

Great pics!! Thats a great loop, did that a lot when I lived there. Here in Central Montana we got a lot of riding in before the snow last week.

I use to live at the bottom of Pattee Canyon. That is a good road ride. To make it even longer sometimes Id ride up to Marshal Ski area too.

I'm thinking the rim trails here in southeast Idaho will finally be ridable by this week. Gonna go hike up and scout this afternoon, in fact.

Yeah... I tried to get as much actual trail into the ride as possible, but it is a bit early yet. At least most of the road bit was unpaved. Looking to check out the Blue Mountain area here in a week or so.

Blue Mountain looked crowded this past weekend. Overflow parking was hitting the road. I was told that the upper trails are soft still, but let us know if you go for a look-see.
    ...building wherever they'll let me...
