    2017 Solar Eclipse: August 21

Stanley is in the Bull's Eye. People will come from miles around. Wolves will howl - birds will sing. Time will run backwards. NO VACANCY since last year. Should be a real cluster fest.
    Good eclipse map:

Still kick'n after being knocked down, drugged out, and bent over - thanks MSTI...you rock.

Sounds like a road trip is required on August 21.

Snagged a couple of spots at Redfish for the week. I'm sure it's going to be a circus!
I'm looking forward to regretting this.......

Pretty much right over our house. Locals are freaking out about how we are going to be overrun. I think the Better Half and I are just going to load up the bikes and head into the mountains for the weekend.

I think I'm just going to wake up early, drive to Driggs, watch it, grab a bit to eat, and then drive home.

Overrated and weak. Stoopid Americans looking for cosmic meaning is something that's just solar. Might as well worship crystals or listen for the low frequency hum of the Earth, and you can do that in Sedona.
Nobody cares what kind of bike you ride.

Or....maybe they just want to check out a total solar eclipse, which doesn't exactly happen all that often?

Other side of this region, but it also passes directly over Glendo State Park. Lots of riding there, though the campground reservations filled last fall.

My buddy, a solar physicist, will probably go somewhere to view it*. Not sure if he's taking any crystals on the trip.

    * Or maybe he'll just be bummed that he had to move away from a prime viewing location in order to take that NASA job in Huntsville.

NASA is going to be in Casper WY for the event. Good riding on Casper Mountain as well as Muddy Mountain.

At this point, there will probably not be a spot left to camp or rent. My neighbor just rented his house out for $10,000 for the week of the eclipse.
