    Ripley v4 sizing

I'm a bit confused on sizing for this bike.

I'm about 5'10" tall and have a 32.5" inseam. I've had a few people recommend the Medium frame for my size.

The Ibis site says Medium stops at 5'9" and the Large starts at 5'8".

No shops have a Ripley in stock around me, so I'm going to have to order one. Can anyone confirm the Medium would be the best choice here?

    I’m 5.10. 32 inseam and ride a large Ripley OG V2 and a large Ripley LS V2.

I just built up a medium Ripley V4 for my wife who is 5’6.

Whilst riding it around to bed in the brakes/shakedown etc I can tell you a medium is too small for someone my/your size. Unless you like riding dual slalom/ bmx.

Same height/inseam here, been on a large Ripley V4 for 6 months. I pedaled around a medium and a large before I bought mine, medium felt way too small.

I’m 5’8” with a 30” inseam. I rode around on both, actually a large first, then a medium then the large again to make sure, all while the shop guy was watching. The medium felt cramped confirmed by the shop guy saying I looked cramped on the medium. So I ordered a large. In fact the large I rode had like a 70-80mm stem on it. The large was a personal bike of a worker in the shop who was my height and inseam. Hope this helps.

Curious to sizing too. 5'-6" currently riding a small OGV1 Ripley. Had a med 2018 v2 5010 for abit that rode ok but being at the low end of the size felt on the big side. Could've been partly due to it being a base alloy D build maybe it was weight.
Recently picked up a shorter Renthal stem to go with their bars I had. Thinking that may have helped fit on it. Have long arms/legs and wondering if using it on a med V4 might work.

Any vertically challenged riders out their on a med with good results?

Check out LeeLikesBikes sizing info - you'd be surprised at what actual math/science adds up to when choosing a bike based on reach, stem, bars, etc... it's well worth investigating and you'd be surprised at what size frame you may wind up on especially given the trend towards longer reach bikes these days.

Interesting reads. He seems pretty involved in geo and bike setup. I just thought he taught how to ride better!?! Lol

He does teach skills and is arguably one of the best there is. That being said, his ability to effectively teach those skills starts with a solid understanding of how a bike should fit and react under riding conditions. I trust that more than "recommended sizing" or most other unfounded analysis that tends to pop up randomly.

Not trying to persuade anyone a certain way though, just sharing my own opinion/experience. At the end of the day it's just a damn bike and it will be fun to ride no matter what. But when it fits right the smile is bigger!
