    Ripley LS CREAKING!

Does anyone else have problems with their Ripley LS creaking like crazy?

I thought it was the BB. I spent an hour and a half dinking with the BB this morning only to figure out on my ride that it must be coming from the eccentric pivots (creaking happens both when pedaling and when standing and hitting bumps). I already took all this apart this winter and cleaned everything, I think the creaking is actually worse now vs last fall.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Try tightening the main eccentric pivots and see if the noise is reduced. If so, then likely time to pull it all apart, check the bearings to make sure theyíre still good, grease, and put it back together again.

They were hella loose. Tightened them up and itís still a little creaky.

I just did an overhaul this winter. Guess I didnít put them back together quite right. Am I supposed to use lock tite on the bolts?

Thanks. I used my owners manual and some videos Ibis has online to disassemble, relube, and rebuild with proper treatment to threads and torqued to spec. Felt like it took all afternoon! I do have one bearing on the swing arm that is definitely bad, but I have no way to remove it at the moment (nor anything to replace it with). A little wear on the cowling around at least one of the eccentric pivots, suggesting it was loose or there was some crap in there (or both) for a while. Hope that doesn't cause a permanent creak.

I'll check if all that effort did me any good tomorrow, pouring rain out right now.
