Front Chainring Protection for V1 Ripmo?

    Hi,

I just got a V1 Ripmo and noticed that the front chainring runs pretty tight to the frame. I contacted Ibis about this and they stated it will clear further as the bike goes through it's travel.

But still I'm concerned a rock can get in between. I'm aware that there are bash guards such as Oneup I can buy. What have you guys done if any thing, for added protection?

    Thanks

I installed a one up chainguide/bash on my Ripmo AF. Not too worried about rocks getting stuck in between, but I donít want to smash my chainring or bottom bracket on a rock. No ISCG tabs, so I used the bottom bracket adapter and it worked fine (minus having to remove my BB to install).

Same for me, I have the OneUp guide/bash. It's a great product. And in over 1,000 miles on my Ripmo I've not had any issues with a rock getting caught between the ring and chainstay.

    Thanks guys!

I heard about the OneUp bash guard.

Not sure where you guys live ( if that makes a difference). I live in NorCal
so the terrain isn't as rocky here.

    I will consider OneUp.

    Thanks!

I'm in Norcal too and have the OneUp V1 chain guide/bash guard. Good solid setup!

Mines been fine for 15 months with a 32T front ring. I tried a 34T and it took some paint off. Was surprised because its supposed to accommodate a 34T.

I have never dropped a chain on my V1 so i don't run a guide but I do have a 77designs Taco bash guard. 32T. Its a bit more blingy. If your bike didn't come with the ISCG 05 Adapter Ibis will send you one.
