    Finally...but still have a question

So heres my mojo...finally after all this time! I am so excited, I'm going on my first ride tomorrow...should be great! In the end I decided to have a mechanic put it together - now that it's all in one piece I have a sense of how all the parts fit and (hopefully) I'll be able to work on it myself in the future.

Had a question about the front derailluer cable (see last attached pic) is it supposed to run like this...it doesn't look right to me...shouldn't it wrap under the guide than get bolted down? What do you guys think?

Cable looks okay, is that your normal riding seatpost length? and that's a number of spacers you got there.

    Ultimately, enjoy your ride

I'd suggest the cable housing should run from the top tube and past the left hand side of your seat-tube, not the RHS as installed on your bike.
How the cable connects to the derailleur looks right to me...

You can simply re-route it. Take your seatpost out, back the tension off the cable by actuating the derailleur by hand, pop the cable out of the bosses, and swap it over to the other side. A 30 second job.

Good instruction to correct the cable route ^ ^ ^ ^.

Left side is correct for a straighter cable route. It will work OK on the right side but wear out faster and be harder in effort to shift.

    Congratulations!

thanks for all the replies....I was told my a pro mechanic that boths sides are acceptable...so I will leave as is. My seat is lower when on the trails...I was street cruzing and had it a little higher. I'm still experimenting with stem height hence all the spacers.
