    Xeon rear shock upgrade

    Jill,

I am wanting to put a coil over on the rear of my Xeon, I just don't like the feel of the air shock. I tried putting a DHX 5.0 on the rear, but the spring would not allow it.

    Any suggestions?

Yeah, that's a tough one since that bike's not really meant to be ridden with a coil spring. have you tried flipping it around the other way? The mounting hardware is the same size on both ends, so you can run it any way you want.

Nope it won't fit either way. Well I guess I'll have to keep the air.

Yeah, we designed that frame around the can size of an air shock. I don't know of any coil shocks that might have a smaller spring OD. Thought maybe if you tried to flip the shock around, the area near the bottom where there's no spring might fit.

Besides, you'll add about a pound with a coil shock anyhow. Them springs are heavy!

Proably about 2lbs. I built the bike kind of heavy, kind of an all Mt./FR bike. Most of the trails I ride around here are DH.

At least I have my SP180.

I proably built the Xeon wrong for what it was designed for. I was kind of expecting a SC Nomad like bike.
