    mary SS 1x9 conversion?

    has anyone converted a mary to a 1x9 set up? i tried searching but came up with zero. i've got an, um, friend that's interested in doing this.

    any feedback would be great. thanks!

    I haven't tried, but all ya gotta do is order a rear der hanger from your LBS and run full length derailleur housing.

    thats great news, next question, is the rear hub compatible with a cassette? or is a different rear hub/wheel needed??

    Yes, you will need a new hub or rear wheel...and a rear derailleur...and a right hand shifter.

    I converted my Mary SS to a 1X14 setup. I just posted about this on the 29er forum this weekend. Not cheap, but very fun indeed!

    There was a thread about 4 months back where someone made it a 1x3, then you don't need a new hub or wheel. Just order the derailleur hanger.
