    2008 Haro Escape- specs/pricing?

I'm in the market for an entry level mtn bike, and the Haro Escape has caught my eye.

I've been trying to find as much information as possible about it, but there aren't many posts on here about the escape. I'd just like to see if I can find some answers since some of the Haro employees and the biggest Haro fanatics seem to post on here.

Are there any specs released for the 08 escape yet? Any rumors about changes? I love that the '07 Escape comes with a pretty nice fork (one of the biggest selling points over the bikes in it's class), will the '08 have the same fork, or a step down?

What is the warranty on the frame?

What is the '08 mspr? The 07's msrp was ~$700, correct?

There is only one shop within 50 miles of me that carries Haro, and they don't have any 07 escapes left. They said they should get the '08 bikes in mid October, is that realistic or are they going to be back ordered longer?

There is no way to order the bike online, is there?

    Thanks a lot,
    Kyle

The Escape comes in 3 flavors...
    Escape=$650
    Escape Sport=$750
    Escape Comp=$950

These are off the top of my head for 07s, the prices may be off somewhat. I donít think the price has changed much for the o8s. I do know they come with a different fork and some have expressed that it might not be as good a fork as the 07s. As for the specs of the o7 vs. the 08 they are pretty much the same and I donít think you be unhappy with a 08. Itís definitely the most bang for buck bike available. Lesser fork, maybe better brakes and hubs...??? Itís all a trade off to keep the price where it is. FWIW I think the graphix, while not that important, are better on the 08s.

Allot of us have Escapes here and no ones has posted anything negative. The only thing I can think of that I would want different is maybe a 650B version as the bike Jill posted earlier intrigues me greatly.

I know I flog my 07 comp and it has taken it all in stride. And at 6' 210lbs even a XC ride punishes my bike.

Cool, thanks for the reply. I'll have to wait for my LBS to get one in and see how I like the geometry/feel. I have a feeling that I'll be a new Haro owner pretty soon.

Your local shop should have new catalogs for you to see. I'm trying to figure out a way to provide a link to a PDF version where you guys can download and view it, but I'm not having much luck. It's a 10mb file, so it exceeds MTBR's attachement limits as well as hosting sites (like FLickr, etc) limits.

I'm trying to find somewhere to host a link to it until I can get our webguy to load it onto our site.

Thanks for the catalog Jill, that helps a lot. We have the same last name, too!

Can you confirm if the $650/$750/$950 pricing will still be applicable, or will they lower in price?

It seems like the '07 Escape has become the '08 Escape Sport, is that assumption correct, or are there things going on behind the scenes that were upgraded while other parts were downgraded? Or is it just because the component prices are going up, and it's reflected in the final product?

I'm not trying to say that it's overpriced, I'm just curious.

    Thanks

i just looked at the 08 catalog. I am glad to see that you kept the burnt rootbeer color on some of your bikes. My friend has a 07 haro 357 in that color and i love it such a great color.
