    MO Conservation Area Trails?

    Hey all,

    Has anyone been to??:

Compton Hollow CA - 5.5 miles
Flag Spring CA - 11.3 miles
Fort Crowder CA - 11 miles
Huckleberry Ridge CA - 17.3 miles
Lead Mine CA - 22.2 miles
Stockton Lake trails - 14 miles
    Robert E Talbot CA - 11.2 miles

I got a new book today from the Missouri Dept of Conservation...it has all their trails in it... it was only $5... And some of these I had never been to or even heard of... let me know if you have been on them!

Here's a link to their web site that you can download the map PDF's of conservation areas. I'd be really interested to hear about Lead Mine.

Unfortunately, with the conditions at Busiek, I had pretty much written off any State owned areas.

Most of what I have heard and seen of MDC trails is not good. They typically followed old game trails or logging roads and were not sustainable. The exception is where they have some trail stewards (mountain bikers) to do reroutes and maintenance. One example of this is at Poosey near Chillicothe. The Green Hills folks built some awesome trails there.
    What, me hurry?
