Looking for light, fast rolling tire for 29" Crests (gravel bike paths and pavement)

Turns out my son differs from me and prefers road riding to offroad. So to spend more time with him I am looking for a light weight tire for gravel bike paths and pavement to throw on my 29" Crests.
I'll just reinstall my Ikons when heading to my local offroad trails.
    I have read sizes from 700 x 25 through 700 x 32's will work on the Crests.
Looking to reduce rotating weight yet not be sliding around on the gravel bike paths in my area.
    Thanks for your opinions.

you should be able to find some semi-slick cyclocross... something around 700cx35 tires to put on

If you're riding with someone on a true road bike, then go for slicks in something like 700x28.

    Schwalbe Durano, Panaracer T-serv...

I just ordered Racing Ralphs. I'll wait and see how they feel.
