Looking for best light, low rolling resistance road/gravel path tire for Stans Crests
I have a '11 Giant Anthem 29er that is used for both offroad and road riding. The wife factor forces me to do both with just one bike.
So I am looking to have a second wheelset to run roads and gravel paths more efficiently than my Crest / Racing Ralph combo that I use for dirt.
So many options it is almost overwhelming.
Thank you in advance for the opinions.

I was going to suggest Racing Ralphs, but... ;)

    WTB Products Tires Hybrid Slick
WTB Slickasaurus I use one for my trainer in the winter.
Edit: Didn't see 29", not sure if those are available in 29" yet. Any 700c road tire will do, check these out.

Some tread on the side for turning or:

    Thanks for the replies.
Did some looking around. Bang for the buck I am liking the Panaracer T-Serv 700C's.
Light, durable and about 1/2 the cost of some comparable tires.

The SB8 is a really good roller. It isn't worth much for actual mountain biking, but on asphalt and fireroads it would probably work pretty good. Cyclocross tires would be another tire, but they probably won't work with crests.

Geax Saguaro rolls really nice at high pressure and will last a whole lot longer on the road than a Ralph.

    Oh, yes they will:

    :)

Not saying I think it's the best solution for a 29" mtb, though.

I'm running one on the back and it's very fast - I can even make it have traction in the dirt!
