    XTC Frame Needs Brake Booster?
I am using a v-brake on the rear of my xtc frame.
I feel the braking power is not strong, I wouldn't say weak.
Someone said a brake booster e.g. salsa's one is necessary to reinforce the not-that-strong frame?
Is that true? Will the stopping power be significantly increased?

yes.. notice the flex on the frame when you actuate the v-brakes ? the brake post actually rotates outward. because of the forces. booster connect the the post and decreases the forces and concentrates to the pad and rim. nashbar has a set of carbon booster cheap amd search on ebay. the salsa is on the heavy side.

    good luck

I would make sure everything else is set up correctly before I added one of those. I ran that frame with Deore and XT V brakes and never noticed the flex. I had strong (for V brakes) braking and the only squealing issues I had were from the XT V brakes, which I didn't spend that mush time dialing in. I'd check pads and rims for contamination, good cable length, and clean housings first.
